TwiRp’s Computer Setups by TwiRp

TwiRp’s Computers

TwiRp has 2 awesome computers.  Both of them are Macs and run splendidly.

LittleBlackMac

Yup, that’s the name of my laptop…  Here are the specs

  • System: macBook mid-2007 Black
  • Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6
    • Windows XP Professional Virtual Machine for Windows development.
  • Processor: 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo
  • Memory: 2 GB (hope to upgrade)
  • Hard Drive: 160 GB (hope to upgrade)
  • Screen: 13.3 inches

It runs just fine.  It works for when I’m on the go, and my desktop is great for when I’m in my room.  I do want to upgrade the RAM and Hard Drive for slightly better performance and space (Virtualizing Windows takes a lot of RAM and yeah…).

LittleBigMac

Yup, that’s the name of my Desktop.  Hopefully McD’s doesn’t care or anything…

  • System: iMac early-2009
  • Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6; Windows 7
    • Windows 7: Ubuntu Virtual Machine because some things are easier to do on Linux than Windows (shocking, I know).  Mainly for using Terminal to push and pull stuff from repositories.  Cygwin/X would work, but it always glitches on me.
    • Mac OS X: Windows 7 Virtual Machine just for testing and breaking stuff.  Windows XP Virtual Machine for Windows Development.  Ubuntu Virtual Machine for software testing (before I put it up for the world to see).
  • Processor: 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo
  • Memory: 4 GB (hope to upgrade)
  • Hard Drive: 640 GB
  • Screen: 24 inches + 19 inches

Yup :) .  Okay, so it’s awesome to me, but to some people it’s not as awesome.  My brother has a computer with an i7, 6 GB RAM, and 640 GB hard Drive, and let me tell you, it runs really fast even when virtualizing several operating systems.  The only problem is I love the applications for my Mac, and Mac is the only one they’re on.

They’re both awesome, and I hope to get a macPro sometime soon (when I can afford it :P ).
