Okay…
So I sortof misbehaved. LaLa put Anti-Meridian up for purchasing before it was supposed to, but as a dedicated fan, I bought it. If you have an e-music account, the CD is available there as well.

Let me just say, It’s absolutely EPIC. If you don’t like it, then you’ve sniffed one to many sharpies.

Review to Be Extended… Gotta get to class…

So the first track it starts off with is “Here is the News.” It’s probably the coolest song to start off with. Just by hearing the intro, you know it’s an epic CD. The sound is different from the previous 2 ablums.

Mercenary, Starling, and Underground were on their purevolume. So you can listen to them there and see how different yet good the music is. Some of the other songs on their purevolume were on previous albums.

Then comes “When you burn Too Fast,” which at first I didn’t like. But after listening to it 2 or 3 more times, it started to grow on me and I liked it. It’s probably one of the more different sounds songs on the album. It’s slower and has some different styles intertwined in it.

“Through Depths of Twilight” is also a good song. It’s more rock compared to the other songs.

“Hero’s Homecoming” was not what I expected. It’s pretty good. It’s sort of the poppy celebration after “Through Depths of Twilight.”

“Ammodramus” is an “interview” with one of the astronauts from the Gloria. It’s not really a song, but it has a good beat and what not.

“Fields of the Fallen” is also a good song. It seems like one of the darker songs on the album. Sort of like a shock of everything that happened and needing to get back up.

“Always Just Before the Dawn” is a good song, but I don’t really know how to go into detail about the song at the moment.

“Fortress of Solitude” is epic. Best intro ever. It’s why people should not use the internet It starts off slow, then picks up and gets really good.

“Blessed Are the Land Mines” is not a song to listen to when walking home alone at mid-night (at least the first 25 seconds). After that, it’s a good song. There’s a positive message, but it might not seem like it at first.

“Aegolius” is another interview. It’s also interesting to listen to.

“Begin Again” is a great slow song. It’s a song you can listen to over and over, unless you don’t like slow songs…

“These Frail Hands” is yet another good song. As you can tell, I’m a BS2 fanboy. It’s sort of a have hope song.

“Invictus” is absolutely epic. It’s slow, but you’ll want to sing along and listen to it over and over again. I think “Invictus” should win an award, but I don’t think that’s really the goal of the song. You’ll love it. It’s the best song to end with. It’s the song you wish you’d here on a tour of BS2 if they ever did a tour. It’s pretty sad that it’s the last CD, but if you’re going to release a last full length CD, you might as well release an absolutely epic CD and end it with an absolutely epic song.

And yes, I did rip my face off after listening to the CD. And I am now using a brail keyboard…

If you can call ordering it the day before it comes out “pre-ordering” it… I pre-ordered Brave Saint Saturn’s Anti-Meridian. I already bought their old albums off of mp3.amazon, but I think I’ll buy them later on because I really want the plastic casing and printed CD, but I lack enough to buy them at the moment.

I paid for the fastest shipping by the USPS possible because people were talking about how “dedicated” they were as fans and ordered it in July or whatnot, but got regular shipping… I’m so dedicated, I ordered it the day before it’s released with priority mail… , yes, I know I’m a dork. Which is why my new side project is dorkify.com! It’ll host some of my comics, but I wasn’t aware of how busy I’d be this school year, so I’m not sure how far it’ll go…

But the new album sounds like it’ll sound great. It’ll have 16 tracks (or at least that was what was announced).

1. Here is the News
2. Mercenary
3. Starling
4. Underground
5. When You Burn Too Fast
6. Through Depths of Twilight
7. Hero’s Homecoming
8. AMMODRAMUS
9. Fields of the Fallan
10. Always Just Beneath the Dawn
11. Fortress of Solitude
12. Blessed are the Land Mines
13. AEGOLIUS
14. Begin Again
15. These Frail Hands
16. INVICTUS

And it has awesome cover art:

They posted some of the songs on their myspace and facebook, but if you want to sample some of their music, I recommend listening to them on pureVolume. It has music from Anti-Meridian, So Far From Home, and The Light of Things Hoped For. You should buy it too! Just go to their website at bravesaintsaturn.com and buy it there. They have the other CDs and some cool shirts.

Latter this month, I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy myself the other 2 CDs and one of the T-Shirts. I’ll probably post some more dorky fan news when they come in the mail.

Now leave me alone! You’re distracting me from homework.

I can’t was till September 15th because that’s when Brave Saint Saturn‘s final CD will be released. I’ve been waiting for a while and they’ve finally annouced the release date. I’m planning on pre-ordering it along with thier other albums (because I bought the mp3′s on amazon since they were out of stock of the CDs themselves).

If you go to their test flight page, they have 2 decent songs there. I think Starling is great. The other one is good, but Starling is much better.

In other news, my Dell is telling me strange things. In order to update my BIOS, I’m supposed to unplug all USB devices, and then click “OK” to run the installer. The only problem is there are only USB and Monitor ports on the back of my computer, so the mouse has to be a USB mouse and Keyboard. So how am I supposed to click “OK” after removing all USB devices? It’s a brain teaser I guess…

I’ve also been playing with SSH and VNC on my mac. It’s pretty cool and fun for some practical jokes. Having my mac run different commands when no one is there. I made VLC start playing a video and the mac say things like “Hey loser, watch this video.” Of course it was to people I know and who would laugh at it. I wouldn’t do that to a complete stranger. If it were a complete stranger, I’d probably have it say something like “This is God, build me an ark. Watch this video to find out why.” Then play a clip from Evan Almighty or something.

So yeah… Felt I should update my blog. Looking for some new music and fooling around while summer lasts.

I stumbled upon Amazon MP3 the other day. It’s pretty cool. I didn’t know it was supported on Linux and Mac. The music is also DRM Free. So it’s almost at par with iTunes, but it might beat iTunes (in my own opinion) if unBoxed worked on all platforms. I know unBoxed is a separate service offered by Amazon, but I use iTunes for both a source of music and videos. It also needs a separate application from the web browser (which was somewhat of a downer). This is cool and all because it means that I don’t have to worry about installed a separate plugin for every browser and I don’t have to keep the browser open for the download, but I’d prefer something that is all-in-one. Like iTunes, but Amazon. It’s also be nicer if the pages were easier to navigate and everything. If Amazon wanted to widen their MP3 base, then could team up with something like SongBird and write an extension. Then it’s be a media player and store all in one. Plus it’d be cross-platform compatible. But the problem with that is people already use WMP for Zunes and iTunes for iPods and whatever for whatever device they own. Although, Amazon could design an MP3/Video player of their own and make it compatible with SongBird and WMP and then write an extension to sync it on both. Then they could have an excuse for aiding in the development of a media player which integrates with their store. Then they could attempt to get wireless on it like the Kindle, and then it’d become very attractive because they could offer online store and the device could have 30 GB internal memory and then it’d prove very lucrative because people would probably be able to sample and buy songs that have been rated similar to the one they’re listening to. Then it could download to their device or store it online, or even dare I say it, have the amazon downloader check for when wireless purchases were made download the songs bought when it has access to the internet. I think that’d be really cool. Feel free to steal the idea

Anyways, back on topic.
The title is from the lyrics of Pre-Ex-Girlfriend by Five Iron Frenzy!
I bought their CD on Amazon MP3, I also bought The Light of Things Hoped For by Brave Saint Saturn!
Both albums rock my socks! I still want to get So Far From Home, but it’s $50… They need to re-release the CD.
Unless someone wants to buy it for me… I’d buy it, but I don’t have enough :’(
I also filled my iPod up… I need a bigger one. The nano isn’t cutting it anymore…
