…not just because this is my last week of summer break,

…but because of a certain breed of cos-players.  I’m not really offended, and this post isn’t really meant to offend people, but it’s to bring up an ideal.  One of the main problems I’m seeing with cos-play recently is people trying way to hard to be what they can’t.  That’s “sort of” the point of cos-playing, but within limitation.  If you weigh 300 lbs, you should not be attempting to cos-play as an Arrancar that is half shirtless.  Nor should you be bragging about how great your cos-play as Inuyasha is.  The reason I bring this up is because of a trip to Baltimore today.  As you know, Otakon (Otaku Convention) is also this weekend.  I think cos-playing is neat, assuming you have the same physical attributes the person your cos-playing has or if you are truly making it a gag/joke cos-play.  The problem I had was morbidly obese people struting their stuff around thinking their so kick-butt with thier mad cos-playing skills.  I’ll give them props to making costumes that fit, but there are some things that don’t have to be overly displayed in public.  If you have enough time to watch the TV Show, eat your some-odd bags of chips, drink your some-odd gallons of soda, and make a costume, then I believe you should have enough time to walk, jog, swim, or at least play some DDR (sorry kids, playing your Wii doesn’t count at physical activity this time, even if you do have to swing your arm to make link attack).  My main issue is that my eyes were tarnished by people’s love handles and jello bowls being left uncovered by the excuse of “cos-play.”  Maybe I’m just being judgemental, but if you have so much time to devote to anime, manga, and sewing your own costume, then I believe you should have some time to devote to some physical activity.  Some people who know me may say “Well, you’ve never been fat or in their situation,” but the reason I’m not fat is do to anorexia, and the reason I’m not in their situation is do to my will power of not being in that situation.  If you work hard enough for something you truly want, then it can be done.  If you truly want a great cos-play, sometimes I think your physical stature can make or break a good cos-play.

Because in the end, all it comes down to is who’s going to die at the age of 50 do to unhealthy habits, and who’s going to die at the age of 60 do to some freak accident during a physical activity.  Even though 10 years doesn’t seem like much, those unhealthy people who died early will never be able to taste the extra greasey sandwhich McD’s will invent when they would have been 56, because we all know that everyone wants to eat McD’s next extra greasy sandwhich.

This has been my rant of the week.

Anyways, other than that Ubuntu 8.04 Comes out in 1 day!
So yeah… If I’m not online tomorrow or if this web site goes down, something broke.

We did go to the mall, and I went to the Apple store in celebration of the people bringing it to our door but not leaving it in order to entertain myself until then.
This one wasn’t as large as some other Apple Stores I’ve seen, but they did have a good selection of software.
So I was debating about what to get.
I really wanted Photoshop, but that was out of my price range
And we already have it for Windows. So we bought Parallels Desktop for mac.
So I’ll probably run Photoshop on that until I get it for mac.

But I wanted a graphics thing to play with on the mac without running Parallels, so I bought Manga Studio Debut.
It looks pretty interesting, and I think it’ll be fun to use since I’m trying to draw stuff…
It says it’s for Windows or Mac, so I was thinking of installing it on my PC, but I was worried it might be a Single computer license…
I hate it when things say “Single User” and you can only install it on one computer. I like it when it says “Single User” and you can install it on multiple computers for yourself. Because what if I want to switch? I don’t think I should have to pay billions of dollars for the same app over and over again when I want to use it on another computer. It’s going to stink when Windows PunKeD will be released and everyone needs to buy a new computer and everyone needs to rebuy all the apps on their old computer because they won’t let them install it on their new computer.
I think people are getting overly greedy with it. I understand operating systems, but if I have MS Office and buy a new computer and need MS Office, I don’t want to have to buy Office again, but then again I like AbiWord instead of MS Word, but I still haven’t found a good replacement for PowerPoint.

So once I get my mac and learn how to use the stuff and draw really well, you might see some stupid little strips here and there…

I also got 3 more DVDs of Case Closed. So maybe I am a major anime collector…
This increases the count of DVDs and manga…
It’s a rather emotional episodes on the ones I got…
But yeah…
It’s pretty good…
Now I have to go and mow the lawn… Wish me luck

I also got some more anime. I got another Case Closed DVD.
I was sortof upset when I bought it. When I went to the cashier, the person asked, “Are you a huge anime collector?” At first I was like, no, I’m only buying one DVD. But then I realized I looked at several other DVDs while I was shopping.
So he probably assumed I was thinking of buying more or something, but it’s such an odd question to be asked. I was kindof offended, but I do own more anime than most people.
But I’m not that big of a collector. I buy stuff when it’s on sale, so yeah…
I was just shocked someone would ask that. Especially since I was only buying one CD.

I was browsing files on my hard drive, and found a lot of the old scripts I made.
And then I deleted them all because the code was conjumbled and everything and highly messed up…
So I’m going to start coding again since it’s summer, and I’m majoring in Computer Science this fall at FIT!
Now all I have to do is find a way to afford my site still…
Hopefully I don’t have to get rid of it, or a lot of people will hate me…

As for anime and manga.
I bought Bleach Vol. 4! And I bought Hayate The Combat Butler vol 2+3, and I’m getting 1 sometime this week.
I also bought more of Fruits Basket. I read weird stuff… I know… I’ll read practically anything with pictures, as long as there’s no nudity.
Hayate is pretty funny, and it’s different from the anime…
yeah…
I’m bored again…

Surmunity is down, and it’s a site I can’t really go a day without visiting…
So yeah…
COME BACK!

Not to mention I have issues with my own hair…
It’s getting long, and I’m planning on getting it cut, or was planning on getting it cut.
This one kid who I highly dislike came up to me and was like “You need to get a hair cut.”
I was planning on it this weekend when all my tests and essays were done, but yeah…
So I replied “I don’t need to get a haircut, and I can determine when I want to get a haircut.”
So now I’m not sure if I should get a haircut until after I leave school…
But the plan was to get a hair cut and wear new nice clothing on the last day…
But then he’ll be like “I told you so that you needed to get a haircut.” (because that’s the type of person he is)
So if I do get a hair cut, he’ll have to make some rude sarcastic comment, but if I don’t, my plan will not go into action (and I’ve had this plan for a while now, because I haven’t worn shorts to school this whole year, so the last day would be a good day to wear them, and I’ve been wearing a hoodie or long-sleeve shirt and yeah…) So he is spoiling my fun and my plot…

Today’s Lesson: Don’t criticize the hair!
