I stumbled upon Amazon MP3 the other day. It’s pretty cool. I didn’t know it was supported on Linux and Mac. The music is also DRM Free. So it’s almost at par with iTunes, but it might beat iTunes (in my own opinion) if unBoxed worked on all platforms. I know unBoxed is a separate service offered by Amazon, but I use iTunes for both a source of music and videos. It also needs a separate application from the web browser (which was somewhat of a downer). This is cool and all because it means that I don’t have to worry about installed a separate plugin for every browser and I don’t have to keep the browser open for the download, but I’d prefer something that is all-in-one. Like iTunes, but Amazon. It’s also be nicer if the pages were easier to navigate and everything. If Amazon wanted to widen their MP3 base, then could team up with something like SongBird and write an extension. Then it’s be a media player and store all in one. Plus it’d be cross-platform compatible. But the problem with that is people already use WMP for Zunes and iTunes for iPods and whatever for whatever device they own. Although, Amazon could design an MP3/Video player of their own and make it compatible with SongBird and WMP and then write an extension to sync it on both. Then they could have an excuse for aiding in the development of a media player which integrates with their store. Then they could attempt to get wireless on it like the Kindle, and then it’d become very attractive because they could offer online store and the device could have 30 GB internal memory and then it’d prove very lucrative because people would probably be able to sample and buy songs that have been rated similar to the one they’re listening to. Then it could download to their device or store it online, or even dare I say it, have the amazon downloader check for when wireless purchases were made download the songs bought when it has access to the internet. I think that’d be really cool. Feel free to steal the idea ;)

Anyways, back on topic.
The title is from the lyrics of Pre-Ex-Girlfriend by Five Iron Frenzy!
I bought their CD on Amazon MP3, I also bought The Light of Things Hoped For by Brave Saint Saturn!
Both albums rock my socks! I still want to get So Far From Home, but it’s $50… They need to re-release the CD.
Unless someone wants to buy it for me… I’d buy it, but I don’t have enough :’(
I also filled my iPod up… I need a bigger one. The nano isn’t cutting it anymore…
