Hmmm…
I’m about to download and test WP 2.5, mainly for creating a new theme and checking plugin compatibility.
From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t look like a great improvement, but that’s just visually, I think it’s supposed to be better working.
But I’ll just have to test it before I can say for certain.

I changed the admin theme, it looks a lot nicer now.
I also installed some themes I had lying around, and they seem to be working so far, but I haven’t tested everything yet.
Hopefully everything works well and when it does come out, everyone is willing to upgrade to it.
I might not if they keep the 2.3.* going for a few years…
