So the college I’m going to says we should run a virtual desktop so we can learn and use different environments…
(Actually, I’ve always wanted to do this, but now I can use it as an excuse to convince my parents…)
I found VMWare Server and Qemu, both of which are free.
I like Qemu better, because it runs faster on my computer and I can run other apps and it won’t go slow.
But I like VMWare because it doesn’t glitch as much… But I guess that’s because Qemu is “Alpha Ware”
I also plan on getting used to Qemu because it’s useable on a Mac (which is what I’ll be getting in June).
So I installed Ubuntu on both, and it’s pretty fun. I’m able to use it like I would if I installed it on my computer, and my parents can’t kill me.
One reason I also like Qemu better is because I can get my external hard drive and put it into any computer I use and run Qemu. This allows me to carry all my apps and stuff with me wherever I go.
One joke I was making was installing VMWare, then put on Linux, then install Qemu and put on Windows XP. But my friends took me seriously and called me an idiot. They said I should install Vista instead of XP…
Yeah…
I’m not that funny…
