So I blogged yesterday about how I got Windows Vista on my new computer.
If you didn’t know, we had a computer that’s 11 Years old (and it still ran, not that well, but it ran none the less).
But we were like, our new computers both can do dual monitors, but our older new one (I blogged last year about how we got the other old one rebuilt on Jan 4th, 2006).
So that one could do dual display, if we found the CD for the drivers, but it couldn’t handle it, and even if we could run all the applications to fill both monitors, the computer would freeze up, and the desk was too small.
So our new one was pimped out…? (I got to select all the features that went into it).
Since it had a chance of pulling off a dual desktop, and some things things, we took the somewhat old monitor from the very old computer and hooked it up on the new computer.
After playing with it for a few hours, I finally got it working. So now I can watch a movie and blog at the same time!
Isn’t that great?
I’ll post some pictures of the setup soon.
My favorite parts of the new computer are:
- DVD Burner
- Dual Monitor Display
- New Speaker System
- Better Web Cam capabilities (not that you’d ever see me use it)
- DVD Creation program
- Movie Maker
- Networking Capabilities, so I can get files off of the old computer instantly and save there without having to save to the new computer. The old one has a lot more space and already has everything I currently use, so being able to use a faster computer with all the old things is pretty cool. I’m thinking of turning the even older computer into a network file storage thing, but it only has a 10 GB hard drive. So I need to save up for a 1 TB one, re-install windows, buy a wireless card for it (we stole all the parts from it to pimp out the new computer even more), and then install all of it, then leave it on delivering files to all the computers in the house.
I’m kind of freaked out because my dad keeps reading all of my blog posts and visiting my sites… I post this stuff online, so none of it’s overly personal or meant to be very private, but it’s embarrassing when he’s reading it out loud and everyone’s wondering what idiot posted that online. I’d be okay with him leaving comments, or e-mailing me, but reading it out loud anytime, or when we have company over is pushing the limits because they start to stare at me, and I feel embarrassed, then my sister makes fun of me and so do some other people. Like I blogged about going to the dentist one time, and he read it out loud like 5 times now, and people stare at me like I’m a weirdo because it was talking about how I got a filling and the person did it wrong and the tooth became really sharp and I cut myself.
EQOTD:
“I hate it when people read my blog.”
Okay, in actuallity I don’t hate it when people read my blog, I hate it when people talk out loud about my blog. Because I typed it up, so the least they can do is keep it to written materials.
