DreamHost is now offering 200 GB of space and 2 TB of bandwidth.
I think they are crazy and are trying to just attract more customers.
I can barely find a place to buy a 160+GB Hard drive, and the larget I’ve seen is 300 GB.
So 2 hard drives per webserver is 600 GB. So let’s say they can fit 3 people to a server?
So there’s 16 domains on the server I’m hosted on, so let’s say anywhere from 8-15 people (because 2 of the domains hosted are mine, and yeah).
So they are either overselling, or crazy.
I’d have to say they’re overselling.
Not that it’s a bad thing, but I don’t like the adverticing.
If someone actually uses 200 GB, I think they’ll be charged more, or removed.
But now people don’t really have to worry about overage charges.
I think it’s more of a “Sorry for th past few months” because they lost alot of customers and many people feared signing up.
So yeah…
I think it’s to try to bounce back.
But I like them anyways, 98% Uptime (usually or more) isn’t bad.
So as long as the quality doesn’t lower, I’m happy.

It hasn’t be 98% uptime for me, which I was getting mad at.
They’re overselling like crazy. No hosting company can sell that much. Many people dislike them because of the overselling.
